It's kinda a tradition for me and my sister to go and watch Transformers together and this one diffinatly was a great movie. Quick pace as per usual Michael Bay style (blink and miss it). In my opinion most of the characters are more well written that in the sequal and it is a better movie too. My fave is still the first movie but I like all three.

Shia LaBeouf is funny as always and he actually gets a chance to show of some deeper emotions too this time - great acting. Josh Duhamel is great too - funny aswell as a great action actor. If they decide to do a forth I hope for more scence between these two guys.

If the entire movie had sucked John Turturro would have made it worth the ticket prize and so much more - amazingly funny actor and one of my fav parts about all three movies.

Megan Fox has been swicted for a walking talking Barbie doll - Rosie Huntington Whiteley. I never been a big Megan Fox fan but she is 10 time better than this chick. The can't act, the is annoying and her only reason for being in the movie is to actrach the opposite sex - which let's face it is not necessary - they'll come for the action!

Another new face was a great supprise tho! Patrick (McDreamy) Dempsey played the human bad-guy. First time we had one of those in the Transformers movies and Dempsey did an amazing job!! Love watching him in this role -so far from what he normally does. I hope he gets a chance to play "bad" again. It suited him very well. Great actor!!

All in all a very good movie :) 4 stars out of 6 - go see it for yourselves :)

 

And the Oscar went to....

Well there was a couple of surprises last night (to me at least), but there some things also went just like I expected them to go (also a few of the things I was hoping I could be wrong about). Let’s start with one of the things I was hoping I was wrong about – the hosts.

From the first time I saw Anne Hathaway and James Franco was hired to host the Oscars this year I thought it was a bad idea – not for the reasons it turned out to be I might add. I thought they were too young and I don’t know two hosts is just weird – maybe I am just an old-fashioned kinda girl, but only one person should host the Oscars at the time and to be frank I think Anne would have done just as well on her own if not better. I am not sure what that boy was on or if he just had a server case of stage fright but half of the time he did not even look like he was present. He stared right into the cameras every time he was talking and into the ceiling every time he wasn’t. Anne tried to engage him a few times but without luck.
And if it wasn’t enough he looked like he was on another planet for half of the show Franco also mumbled and I mean mumbled. It was like he ate the word at the beginning of each sentence and if he failed to do that, he just ate the one in the end instead.

Hathaway did an okay job, she was not the best Oscar host I’ve ever seen, but in spite of her being a little stiff and having a rather impossible co-host she did a dissent job.

The opening of the show was actually very well done, but I still think I prefer the one Hugh Jackman did a few years back. Hugh is in my opinion still the best man for the job, since Billy Crystal stopped hosting the show a few years back. It was nice to see him back on stage though even if it only was for a couple of seconds.

I don’t think Anne Hathaway was the only one who was being stiff last night though, almost all of the presenters were with a few exceptions; Sandra Bullock was very charming when she presented best actor and Jeff Bridges was being himself and did a great job presenting the Oscar for best actress as well. Tom Hanks opened the show in style and I actually don’t think that man could do a bad job on screen or on stage even if he tried, but the two best presenters were by far Robert Downey Jr. and Judd Law. Those two was one of the highlights last night, they were hilarious and they got an amazing chemistry, which they already showed off as Sherlock Holmes and his trusted side-kick Dr. Watson. I’ve got to say if they really want two hosts at the next Oscars how about inviting Downey and Law to be it? Or maybe they are not young enough for the academy – but they sure were the best part of the night in my opinion.

Last night off course also had a few true Oscar moments. Kirk Douglas was brought on stage and the 94 year old man proved he’s still a movie star. I also love all of the historic flashbacks and it is nice to remember the great filmmakers and stars that passed away over the last year with the stars. I am glad they didn’t cut that part last night.

Now to the winners of the show!!!
And on that note I’ve got to say: WE WOOOOOON!!!! To anyone who missed it I am Danish and last night Denmark won for best foreign language film with Susanne Bier’s In a Better World. I really thought the Oscar would have gone to Mexico for Biautiful but I couldn’t be happier to be wrong.

Inception took a lot of the technical prizes last night which was no surprise to me – the movie is an amazing piece of work and if you haven’t seen it yet – of you go to blockbusters! It deserves your attention.

Another movie that deserves a lot of attention is The King’s Speech and it got it too last night with the 4 Oscars it brought home. Colin Firth won for best actor and King’s Speech was honored with best movie as I predicted. Off course it got a well deserved Oscar for best original screenplay and Tom Hooper got the Oscar for best director just like I predicted too. I still would have loved to see it in the hands of the Coen brothers, even though Hooper really deserved it too. There was one Oscar more Oscar I think the movie had deserved and that is best actor in a supporting role. Geoffrey Rush did an amazing job in this movie and without him I am not sure Firth would have gotten the Oscar, but it is very rare one movie gets both of this Oscars. I think last night should have been an exception though.

The social Network went home with a few Oscars as well but that was no surprise either – not really my type of movie but well deserved I am sure.
Black Swan got only one Oscar last night and that went to Natalie Portman for best actress in a leading role. She really deserved that one – she did an amazing job and I don’t think any of the other actress’ came near her last night. Well done Natalie – you really carried that movie and that Oscar is the proof.

I think the Oscars were handed out pretty fairly last night and other than actor in a supporting role there were only a few other’s I think should have been given differently.
Those of you who read my blog from before the show last night knows I would have loved to see Haliee Steinfield get an Oscar for actress in a supporting role (since they nominated her in the wrong category in the first place the least they could do was have given it to her). Haliee did an amazing job in True Grit and she really held her own even among great actors like Matt Damon and Jeff Bridges. I think she deserved to win last night but I am also sure this was not the last time Steinfield’s name was on the list of nominees, far from it!

I think Inception deserved on more than the 4 ones it got and that is for Original Score (the Oscar went to Social Network) and I think Tangled and I see the light should have won for Original Song (Toy Story 3 won the Oscar with We belong together).



All in all it was a great show last night and I never regret staying hope late watching it. Another post is to come about the amazing (and not so amazing dresses) one of the next few days.

The best shows on TV!!!

Okay I've got to admit I love TV shows - maybe even more than I love movies.
Why??
Well because you get to now the characters better I guess, and because you see the changes in them slowly over weeks instead of over only a few hours. Don't get me wrong I love movies too, but there is just something about being able to follow a show and it's characters week after week and look forward to what will happen next.


Over the years I have had a lot of fav Tv-shows some of them being teen shows like The OC and Dawson's Creek, when I was growing up others have been TV dramas like ER, comedies like Friends, family dramas like Gilmore Girls and science fiction shows like the X-files, but in this blog post I wanna talk a bit about the shows that are around today - and there really are lots of good shows out there at the moment and it is impossible to watch them all just because you thing they are good (which is one of the troubles with TV-shows I guess).

Some of the shows I like to watch on occasion are doctor shows like House and Grey's Anatomy where House is clearly my fav one. Grey's has always only been a show I have been watching once in a while if I was bored, but it is a good show. House was a show I followed regulary up until the 3rd season where I think a bit to many changes was made for my liking, but I I've gotta say it is a good show and I still tune in once in a while.

There are also good family dramas out there like fx. Brothers and sisters - again not a show I am to familiar with but one I like to watch if I see it is on and I have nothing better to do (or if I need a good excuse not to do the dishes right this moment ;))

Another great show that I have been watching from the get go - but I am not that good at following weekly anymore is Medium and that is by no means because it is a bad show, but just because as I said earlier there are just to many shows out there and I am not able to follow all of them even though I would like too. Medium is a bit sci-fi and a bit detective and a bit family - a great mix and I usually catch up with it when it is released on dvd or re-runs are on TV.

Another show I used to follow was Numbers but for some reason I just kinda lost interest in that one, but I guess that happens once in a while. I really don't have anything bad to say about it - and I am not sure why I stopped watching. Maybe because I am really bad at math and all the numbers just got to much?? Don't know - maybe :)

A cop show I also watch on occasion and actually think I would really love if I had more hours in the day and time enough to follow yet another show is The Mentalist. The idea is original and the show is exciting and fun, besides Simon Baker is a great actor.

There are also a lot of great comedy shows out there. One I watch once in a while is The Big Bang Theory. That is a really funny show and luckily one you don't have to follow to enjoy :)

But now to my top 5 fav shows (and they are of very different genres so you might find one you like among there ;))

5. Is a comedy show and it is called How I meet your mother and is actually not a show I watch every week, but it is in my opinion the best comedy show out there at the moment(and my fav part is the character Barney) and it is diffinatly worth to take a look at:


4. The next show is also one I used to watch regulary but I has gotten a bit away from the this last season, I do fully intend to catch up though. It is a crime/lab show and it is called Bones. The reason why I like this Crime/lab show over all of those others out there is the characters. A lot more work is put into the character building than on any other crimelab show I have ever seen, besides the experiments in the lab are usually very amusing. Take a look for yourself:


3. This next show is also a crime show but in a very different way that Bones. This FBI team takes us into the mind of the criminals and uses psychology to catch the killers and the way the show is shot is genius. It has been a fav of mine from it started almost 6 years ago and I don't think I'll stop watching any time soon (eventho this too has gotten a way for me this season - but once again I will catch up). It is also hard to choose which part of the show to show you, becuase it has gone on for so long and is full of great characters, besides it is also a show that uses a lot of quotes from famous writers and other historic figures which I love. 2. This next show is a sci-fi show and it has been one of my fav shows on TV since it started 5/6 years ago and it is not your every day Sci-fi show, actually it reminds me more of old horror flicks at times. The name of this one is Supernatural and it is about two brothers hunting down supernatural creatures and killing them. It is exciting, scary and funny all at the same time. The shows is carried by only two actors Jared Padelecki (which you may know from Gilmore Girls)and Jensen Ackles (from Dark Angel and Smallville) and they both do a great job with the comedic sides of their characthers as well as the dramatic ones. This is a show that I am really confindent will never start to bore me and it is diffinatly worth you looking into. This clip shows a bit of the shows scary sides aswell as the funny ones:


1. The last show on my list is one brand new and has in my opinion got it all. It is fast, exciting, funny and if full of great actors. It is only 12 episodes into it's first season, but you still might know the name of it since it is a remake of a 70s Tv-show. It is called Hawaii Five-0.
It is a cop show and it was big in the 70s (according to my mom) and it even had cult phrases like Book 'em Danno. It didn't know the phrase or the show untill I started watching the new one but my mom says it looks just as good as the old one.
Since I have not watched the old one I can not judge there all I know is I think it is the best show on tv at the moment. The story line is great and the cast is amazing and counts guest appearences like Balthazar Getty (Alias) and James Masters (Buffy, Angel) not to mention the regulars:
Daniel Dae Kim (from Lost), Scott Caan (son of James Caan and know from the Ocean's movies) and Alex O'Loughlin (from tv-shows like Moonlight and the romantic comedy The back-up plan). U have chosen a clip that shows a bit of the action in the show and a lot of the fun. In any case it is a good indicater of the style and it is deffinatly worth you checking out:


Any way this is the shows I enjoy watching, maybe you will find a bit of inspiration here if you are searching for a new show to follow or maybe I just helped you remember a show you once loved to watched, I know I just remembered a few myself :)
