Under the star(s)...

Ok I know I usually don't write much about danish music or musicians, but last night I was at a concert and I was actually really impressed by him. I've know his music since he reliezed his first single in arpil last year, but he has only gotten better.

Rasmus Seebach, as he is called, has an amazing voice and he is a great preformer. It is not the last time I'll go see one of his shows that's for sure.

And my friend and I had a great time:

Tommy Seebach (Rasmus' dad) died a few years ago, but he was one of biggest musicians in Denmark at that time and it looks like his son is ready to take his place. Last night Rasmus sang one of his dad's song. He sounds a lot like him and this song, Under stjernerne på himlen, (Under the stars in the sky) which is written by his dad for his babysister really moved me:

Rise and rise again - untill lambs become lions!

Robin Hood was finally released on dvd here in Denmark yesterday. I’ve been looking forward to seeing this movie again for some time now and I finally did last night and it is just as good as I remembered it to be. The movie on the dvd is a director’s cut and 16 min of extra scenes are added with doesn’t hurt the movie at all, on the contrary they make the movie better.

If you haven’t seen the movie yet, It’ll be worth it to check it out. The movie is directed by Ridley Scott and stars great actors like Cate Blanchett, Russell Crowe, Scott Grimes and Kevin Durrand. To those of you who know the Newfoundland band Great Big Sea the movie also stars Alan Doyle and contains a few great songs written by him as well.

Watch it I swear you won’t regret :D

Time to switch to Corb Lund

"I've been Corb'ed" that is what Sean McCann wrote on twitter a few months ago and now I can say the same thing :D
Corb Lund is a candian country musician and he is really good. The first time I saw him was on a youtube vid of him opening for Great Big Sea and immidaiatly I liked him. I checked a few of his cds out and now I can say that I've surely been corb'ed ;D

This is were I first heard him singing I wanna be in the cavalry when Great Big Sea joined their opening act on stage.

Corb Lund's songs are both funny and beautiful and I like both. He's got a great voice and an ability to draw you into his music like he does in this beautiful sad song The truth comes out.

other times he'll just make you laugh and sing along like in this song (Hard on Equipment) ;D

Whatever the mood you are in Corb Lund has a song that fits ;D
