To strive, to seek, to find and not to yeild

"When you get those rare moments of clarity, those flashes when the universe makes sense, you try desperately to hold onto them. They are the lifeboats for the darker times. When the vastness of it all, the incomprehensible nature of life is completely lucid. So the question becomes or should have been all along, what would you do if you knew you only had one day, or one week, or one month to live? What lifeboat would you grab on to? What secret would you tell? What band would you see? What person would you declare your love to? What wish would you fulfill? What exotic locale would you fly to for coffee? What book would you write?"

This is a quote from a movie I just finished watching. It is called One Week. It is a love letter not only to Canada but to life - and it is about remember who you are and holding on to that. I really recommend that you watch this movie. Be prepared to be wowed by the grand nature of Canada, to be moved, to laugh and to cry with the main character Ben Taylor (played by Joshua Jackson).

Happy Birthday Chaplin!

Because Chaplin is a genius and google just informed me that it is his 122th birthday today (had he been alive that is). So Congrats old chap!

I've been Fringed!

Last weekend my sister recommended I should was Fringe and I took her up on in and now I am totally hooked. It is an exciting and hillarious show with some great actors. You girls might recall Pacey Witter (Joshua Jackson) from Dawson's Creek??? He plays one of the leads, but the best part of the show is without a doubt his wierd yet genius dad played by John Noble. Just watched this:

Royal Twins

Just finished watching the baptism of the two royal twins. It is alway exciting what the name are. I have watched no less then 6 of the kind in my short life :)
Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik got two sons and their younget son Joakim got three sons himself: Prince Nikolaj and Prince Felix there mom is countess Alexandra (they got divorced a few years back) and Prince Henrik whose mom is princess Marie.

Prince Christian and Princess Isabella

But the cutest of the kids are in my opinion Crownprince Frederik and Crownprincess Mary's kids. Prince Christian and Princess Isabelle were adorable in church. The little prince made a telescope out of his program and the little princess stood up and sat back down over and over again - but remember to kiss her sister or stroke her head everytime!

Princess Josefine and Prince Vincent

The little twins names were not what anyone had expected, but beautiful especially the boys name. Prince Vincent Frederik Minik Alexander (with a middlename after his dad and a Greenlandic name Minik) and Princess Josephine Sofia Ivalo Mathilda (also with a Greenlandic name Ivalo and Mathilda after the australian folk song Waltzing Mathilda since her mom is born in Australia).

A beautiful ceremony and wonderful little kids.

Who did and made you king of anything?

Just stopped by to share a song with all of you. This a song that describes me very well. How come some people try and make their opinions yours? And how come they are often men?? And before you ask yes I ran into one of those today (and I am a afraid I am related to a few aswell) - who know the type that got the talking down but not the listening!

Actually alway thought this song fits me quiet well - don't tell me who to be :)

"It's a wonderful night"

It's been a great day. After sleeping in I had a nice long walk in the beautiful spring weather and then it was off to Hornslet with my sweet sister. We had fun taking pictures, talking and eating before going to the cinema. I just love days like these with her!

We saw The Way Back - a beautiful hard movie that spoke to the heart. It was filled with humanity (lack there off too) and amazing nature shoots. A movie that I recommend seeing on one of those days where you just need to be moved. A tear fell from my eye a couple of times tonight...

Watch the trailer here:

Well it is off to bed with me soon (to read a bit before going to sleep) so...
Cheers and enjoy your sunday tomorrow :)

Looking back....

My past is a big part of who I am today and sometimes I do look back. Today I searched through some old papers and found this poem. If I had to guess I'd say I wrote it in 2004, but it might be a bit older than that and it is called:

Far Away from Home

1000 neddles on my skin
The dark surrounds me
And the world starts to spin
Watching myself from a distance
Is this happining?

Starting to doubt my own existence
Alone - far away from everything known
Silent tears falling from my eyes

Wishing myself back to my home
1000s of hours passes by
The darkness gets darker
And I just want to die
Knowing that would kill them
I just move on
Carrying a picture - like a gem

Alone - far away from everything known
I scream into the wind
Trying to free myself from this dome

1000s nights I cried myself to sleep
Then finally a pale light
And filled with hope I took a leap
Feeling the warmth on my face
I know I made it through
But my heart still holds an empty space

With friends - still far away from home
I find myself smiling - laughing
Knowing everything will be okay……

Statute of Limitations

Last night I saw a show on Tv where they were discussin the statute of limitation in Denmark. That is one law that in my opinion really should be changed.

Why should a woman that was raped 16 years ago not have a chance for a trail when she finally realizes that is what she want - maybe because she hears she was not the only one he ever did it to. Is it really right that he can only be convicted for the one rape and not the older one because it happened to many years ago?
Or what about a kid that was abused when he/she was 10 years old and finally just remember it when they are in their 30s - cause that is how memories work sometimes. If the abuse was by a parent or a close friend of the family, which is often the case, they might not dare to speak up untill they are adults. Often kids blame themselves or are just scared what will happen if they speak up.
Is it really right a child molester can’t be convicted just because he is good enough at scaring his victims into silence?
I think the limitation law should be removed from all rape cases, wheather is happens to grown-ups or kids. There are no limitation law on murder and rape is murder of the soul. If it happens to a kid the molester also murders their childhood!
This is my opinion…

Post 100 and a few books.

I've just finished reading Kvinderne pÃ¥ Sølvheden (The women on the Silvermoor) by Hanne Faldborg. This book was also part of my Book Challenge, which last month said I should read a book by a danish author. I had really looked forward to reading this book and the plot did not dissapoint me, but the style in which it was written was sadly not to my liking.

This month is a month I have been looking forward to when it comes to the Book Challenge, since it asks it's participants to read a book from the 1800s. I love books from this era and there were lots of brilliant authors back then - danish aswell as english.
I had a bit of trouble chosing a book though since there are so many great ones, but during the last month I narrowed it down to two books and yesterday I finally made up my mind and ordered the book on the local library's website.

The book I didn't pick was Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens, and I am not really sure why I didn't choose this one to be honest. His novel A Christmas Carol has been a favorite of mine for a long time and every christmas I both read the book and watch my favourite version of the movie (the one with Patrick Stewart) and I have wanted to read Oliver Twist for a long time too, but have have just never really gotten around to it. Who knows if I finish the book I picked over Oliver Twist I might just read it anyway!

But know to the book I am gonna read first. I have loved Jane Austen's book Pride and Prejudic aswell as Sense and Sensibility from the first time I read them on my last years of highschool but I had kinda forgotten that I wanted to read more of her books up untill this winter when a friend of mine loaned me another one of her books Persuasion and I thought that this month challenge was a great excuse to read yet another one of her books. I was not quite sure if I should go with Emma or Mansfield Park to begin with but after reading a bunch of summaries I decided on Mansfield Park. I am really looking forward to the mail form the library that I can come and pick up the book, so I can start reading it!
e

Offcourse I will as always let you know what I thought about the book at the end of this month or the beginning of the next.

Cheers.

Listening and searching...

I love watching Grey's Anatomy - not because of the doctor thing, but because of all of the emotions and the drama. A girly reason really ;)
One of the things that makes the show so great is the music and how it always plays of the emotions of the actors in just the way and now the creators of the show has taken the music element on the show to the next level.
Last week the first musical episode in the show's history rolled of the screen - and it is amazing. A lot of the actor's got great voices and it looks as if there is real drama present in this episode to (haven't seen it yet since I've fallen a bit behind).
Here are the two songs I've found on the internet that I like the best - and here's too my favourite character Callie makes it through this episode and many to come!

Chasing cars because it is an amazing song (originally done by Snow Patrol) and because Sara Ramirez (Callie Torres) and Kevin McKidd (Owen Hunt) really proves to be amazing singers aswell as actors!

The next song I have chosen are How to save a life (originally done by The Fray), and I chose this because it is an amazing song. The lyrics are really powerful and the acting aswell as the singing in this clip is beautiful.
